Abstract:The Xinanzi tungsten-tin deposit in Chongyi, Jiangxi, is located within the Xihuashan-Piaotang tungsten-tin ore field of the "Chongyi-Dayu-Shangyou" mineralized district in southern Jiangxi, representing a typical quartz-vein type wolframite deposit in the region. This study initially conducts tunnel mapping on four levels, meticulously observing the spatial distribution, geometric forms, and structural planes of the ore-bearing quartz vein groups and individual vein bodies. It also performs statistical analysis on the occurrences of the ore veins and post-mineralization faults. Additionally, statistical analysis is performed on the density and amplitude of the ore veins across five levels along sections at five exploration lines. Results indicate the presence of two types of quartz veins in the Xinanzi deposit: low-temperature and high-temperature. Low-temperature quartz veins are barren, while high-temperature quartz veins develop muscovite edges, are rich in cassiterite and wolframite, and display characteristics of multiple stages. The ore-bearing quartz veins in the Xinanzi deposit are primarily NWW trend and SSW dip, with inclinations ranging from 50° to 85°. A few vein bodies are NE trend and NW dip, with inclinations of 65° to 78°. Individual ore veins exhibit features such as wavy bending, branching and recombination, dilation and contraction, and lateral pinching. Some locations were later fractured and displaced, yet this did not affect the overall distribution pattern of the ore veins. A comprehensive analysis of the regional tectonic context suggests that the Xinanzi deposit area is subjected to NW-SE principal stress compression, leading to the formation of a series of fractures that were subsequently filled with post-magmatic ore-bearing hydrothermal fluids, thereby creating the ore bodies. The ore-related granite body at Xinanzi intruded from the southeast to the northwest, leading to speculation that the northern part of the Xinanzi section holds significant mineralization potential. Recent drilling has uncovered promising industrial ore bodies in the Longtanmian section.
